Part 3:  Weathering and Erosion

 

 

Enduring Understandings:

  1. Weathering is the breakdown of rocks into "transportable" materials by physical and chemical means.
  2. Erosion is the transport of weathered materials to new locations by any of severals agents, including wind, water, glaciers, and gravity.
  3. Deposition is the process of placing eroded materials in new places.
  4. The processes of weathering, erosion and deposition leave distinctive features that allow them to be identified.
